We have been driving the same vehicle for the past nine years. In fact we got it a month before Jayden was born. Prior to that time we had a Ford Crown Victoria that seated 6. That wasn't going to work with another baby due in a month. When looking for that van I remember saying "Okay, anything but white. I do not want a white van. White isn't even a real color! Guess what? That white van just about fell in our laps. The other one we wanted to look at was never at the dealers when we passed by and Dad was able to get the guy to knock the price down on this one. It was a deal too good to pass up. Sometimes I think God laughs.
Fast forward nine years to the present day. This 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan has 239,000 miles on it. It still runs, but seems to cost us more and more each time it has a problem. So with tax refund time upon us, we went searching for a Dodge Durango. Yes, I had been researching for a year and had made up my mind on what I wanted. We test drove a really nice one in Columbia. It was a beautiful blue, leather seats, and about $800 out of our price range. So we went home. Two more weeks I prayed and poured over the newspapers and checked craigslist. On Monday I decided to try craigslist in the St. Louis area. There was a 2002 listed a full $1500 lower than what could spend, and it only had $60,000 miles on it. After a few texts, emails, a phone call, and a trip to the bank, we headed to St. Louis to pick it up. Did I mention it is the same beautiful blue that I fell in love with in Columbia? Yes, God smiles too :).
