In an attempt to find a new system to keep my house in order, I came across this.
"Chore Wars lets you claim experience points for household chores. By getting other people in your house or workplace to sign up to the site, you can assign experience point rewards to individual chores, and see how quickly each of you levels up. Experience points are tracked both as weekly high-score charts, and as ongoing character sheets - every time you rack up 200XP of chores, your character gains a "level", and their class changes to match the type of chores that they've been doing. "
The kids had a blast picking out their characters last night while I made up a list of "adventures" (aka chores). This morning I awoke to children discussing which chore they wanted to do first to gain the most points. I did not cook today because Canaan asked if he could make lunch, then Josiah volunteered for dinner duty. I realize that this is new and that newness will most likey wear off soon. But for the moment, I'm really enjoying this.
