My Chair

My Dad's birthday came on July 9 and I felt the need to do something. I decided to complete my first wood project in his honor. He enjoyed working with wood and I spent a lot of time in his garage helping him while he made bookcases, shelves, etc... but I had never attempted a project on my own. I found these plans for "Jakes's Chair" on the internet and fell in love with them:


I cut out all of the pieces with a jigsaw and a borrowed table saw. Since I don't own a router all the edges were smoothed by hand with a sanding block. I really did learn a lot from this project and hope to make a few more as well as start on a bookcase one of these days.
